Senior Flags has made flags since 2003; printing, cutting, sewing, quality control and packing are done in-house at our factory in Lu’an, Anhui. We supply feather and teardrop flags to distributors, promotional product suppliers and event companies, from 10 pieces per design (10 sets with poles). Feather flags are also sold as flag-only prints. If they are for poles you already own, send us the pole size and a photo of the top section first.

What sizes do feather flags come in?
Senior Flags feather flags come in 200 × 50, 240 × 60, 340 × 70, 375 × 75 and 410 × 80 cm, on 2.8–5.5 m poles. This feather flag size chart gives each flag in cm, inches and feet, as height × width. The pole column is the pole size we list with each flag.
| Flag size (cm) | Inches | Feet and inches | Pole | Height : width |

Sizes and poles as listed on our feather flag product page; inches converted at 2.54 cm per inch.
There is no industry-wide standard feather flag size. Every maker has its own range, and these five are ours. For national, hand, car and garden flag sizes, see our standard flag size chart. The standard fabric is 110 gsm knitted polyester (what flags are made of), printed on one side or both. Full specifications are on the custom feather flags page.
What are the teardrop flag sizes in cm and inches?
Senior Flags teardrop flags come in five sizes, from 166 × 75 cm (65 × 30 in) to 350 × 130 cm (138 × 51 in), on 2.8–5.5 m poles.
| Flag size (cm) | Inches | Feet and inches | Pole | Height : width |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 166 × 75 | 65.4 × 29.5 | 5 ft 5 in × 2 ft 6 in | 2.8 m (9.2 ft) | 2.2:1 |
| 200 × 90 | 78.7 × 35.4 | 6 ft 7 in × 2 ft 11 in | 3.4 m (11.2 ft) | 2.2:1 |
| 240 × 108 | 94.5 × 42.5 | 7 ft 10 in × 3 ft 7 in | 4 m (13.1 ft) | 2.2:1 |
| 290 × 110 | 114.2 × 43.3 | 9 ft 6 in × 3 ft 7 in | 4.5 m (14.8 ft) | 2.6:1 |
| 350 × 130 | 137.8 × 51.2 | 11 ft 6 in × 4 ft 3 in | 5.5 m (18.0 ft) | 2.7:1 |
Sizes and poles as listed on our teardrop flag product page; inches converted at 2.54 cm per inch.
Teardrop flags are sometimes listed as teardrop banners, and feather flags as feather banners; the sizes are the same either way. See custom teardrop flags for the rest of the teardrop specification. To show a teardrop flag from a wall instead of the ground, a teardrop wall bracket is listed with our wall-mounted flagpoles.
Both shapes are made for four of the same pole sizes (2.8, 3.4, 4.5 and 5.5 m), but each set’s pole is matched to its own flag. How a feather flag and a teardrop compare on the same pole size is covered in feather flag vs teardrop flag.
What is the difference between flag height, pole size and standing height?
Three different numbers get called a feather flag’s size or height: the flag height, the pole size, and the height of the set once it stands in its base. Our product pages give the first two. They do not give the standing height, which depends on the base and on how the pole’s top section holds the flag.
US listings usually name a kit by its overall height in feet, and each seller measures it its own way. Our sizes are named by flag dimensions and pole size, so compare flag dimensions rather than names, and ask us for the standing height of the set with the base you plan to use.
How do our sizes compare with US-named feather flags?
US sellers often name a kit by how tall it stands, not by the size of the printed flag. 4over4, for example, lists 24 × 81, 32 × 99, 32 × 123 and 37 × 161 in flags that stand about 8, 10, 12 and 15 ft, and says “the assembled flag stands roughly a foot and a half taller” than the printed fabric. Matched by flag height, our five sizes sit like this:
| Our flag | Flag height | Nearest US-named kit, by flag height |
|---|---|---|
| 200 × 50 cm | 78.7 in | 81 in flag, sold as about 8 ft |
| 240 × 60 cm | 94.5 in | 99 in flag, sold as about 10 ft |
| 340 × 70 cm | 133.9 in | Between the 123 in (about 12 ft) and 161 in (about 15 ft) flags |
| 375 × 75 cm | 147.6 in | Between the 123 in (about 12 ft) and 161 in (about 15 ft) flags |
| 410 × 80 cm | 161.4 in | 161 in flag, sold as about 15 ft |
US kit sizes from 4over4’s feather flag guide, matched by flag height only.
The right-hand column is the nearest match by flag height, not a standing height for our sets. We have not published standing heights; ask for the standing height of a set with the base you plan to use.
Not sure which size fits your space? Send a photo of where the flags will stand, with the ceiling height or the width of the gap. We reply with the size and base we would use, and the sample time.
Which size fits the place it will stand?
Choose the size by whatever limits it: a ceiling, a narrow space, the ground, transport or an event’s own rules. Check these points before choosing:
| What limits the size | What to check | Our range |
|---|---|---|
| A ceiling, indoors | The standing height of the set in its base | The shortest sets use a 2.8 m pole: 200 × 50 cm feather, 166 × 75 cm teardrop |
| A narrow space, such as a shop entrance or a gap between parked cars | The flag width, room for the flag to swing if the base turns, and the base footprint | Feather flags 50 to 80 cm wide, teardrops 75 to 130 cm; ask for the base footprint of your set |
| The ground | Base type | Ground spike or ground drill on soft ground; cross base or flat base on hard, flat surfaces; a water bag on a cross base for extra stability |
| Transport | Packed length | One listed teardrop carton is 118 cm long (see below) |
| An event’s own rules | The organizer’s height limit | Compare it with the standing height, not the pole size |
Base options for each pole size are listed on feather flag poles and bases.
Can you move artwork from one flag size to another?
Each size needs its own artwork file, because the height-to-width ratio changes from size to size. Feather flags are 4:1 on the two smaller sizes and about 5:1 on the three larger ones, and teardrops run from 2.2:1 to 2.7:1. Even the two 4:1 sizes should get their own file, so ask for each size’s template before you lay out the artwork and check a proof on each outline.
How are feather and teardrop flag sets packed for freight?
Each set goes in its own carry bag, and the carton depends on the size and base, so confirm it on the quotation.
Our teardrop product page lists one carton without naming the flag size: five sets, each in its own carry bag, in a carton of 118 × 20 × 18 cm (46.5 × 7.9 × 7.1 in) at 22 kg (48.5 lb) gross. Per set that is about 0.0085 m³ (0.30 ft³) and 4.4 kg (9.7 lb), so 100 such sets fill 20 cartons, about 0.85 m³ (30 ft³) and 440 kg (970 lb) gross. Sets in that carton pack to 118 cm or less. Confirm the carton for your size and base on the quotation.
Feather flags are packed individually and shipped in cartons. Ask for the carton size and gross weight of each size you order, and work out freight per set the same way.
How should you write a feather flag order?
Give one order line per size, listing the shape, the flag size in cm, the pole size and material, the base, single- or double-sided printing, and the number of sets. Write each size as flag height × width in cm, with the inch figure in brackets if your customers buy in inches.
Our MOQ is 10 pieces per design, or 10 sets with poles (see custom flag MOQ and lead times), and the same design in two sizes counts as two designs. Bulk production takes 15 to 20 calendar days from artwork confirmation, excluding shipping, as listed on our feather and teardrop flag pages. Pole kits ordered on their own take 20 to 25 calendar days.
Frequently asked questions
What is the standard size for a feather flag?
There is no single standard. US kits are often sold as about 8 to 15 ft tall; our five feather flags run from 200 × 50 cm (79 × 20 in) to 410 × 80 cm (161 × 31 in), on 2.8 to 5.5 m poles.
Are feather flags double-sided?
They can be. We print feather and teardrop flags on one side or both, by digital or silk screen printing. A double-sided teardrop is two layers of 110 gsm knitted polyester with an interlayer.
What is the best base for a feather flag?
Choose by the surface: a ground spike or ground drill on grass and soil, a cross base or flat base on hard, flat ground, and a cross base with a water bag when you need extra stability.
Want to see a size before you commit? Ask for one sample set in that size, made in 5 to 7 calendar days from artwork confirmation, excluding shipping; the parts included are listed on the quotation. Ask for a sample set
